DESCRIPTION: from the ICMS record "LID W/ WOODEN HANDLE ON TOP THAT TURNS METAL ROD W/ FOUR METAL SLATS OR BLADES ATTACHED TO BOTTOM OF ROD. SOME KIND OF MIXER. SEE CHIR 1788, BOX."
CHIR 1818 is a multi-component, functioning object consisting of a lid, axel and fan, gear, and handle. The object is iron plated with white specular metal, possibly nickel or zinc. The handle is made out of wood and painted red.

TREATMENT PROCEDURE
1. Surface was vacuumed using a micro-attachment brush.
2. Removed the catalog number using swabs of acetone.
3. Reduced dirt and grim on metal surfaces with swabs of acetone.
4. Reduced corrosion with a stiff bristle brush and swabs of acetone.
5. Applied a micro-crystalline wax coating with Naptha solvent to the metal surfaces.
6. Reapplied catalog number printed on archival paper and adhered with Rhoplex.
