DESCRIPTION: from the ICMS record "LARGE TOOTHED. FLAT. LONG AND NARROW. C88.031"
CHIR 3622 is a rasp with fine, diagonal raised teeth on one side and more protruding, triangular teeth on the other. The edges have horizontal ridges. One end is slightly curved and smooth, the other side contains a long, pointed handle. There is a label engraved on one side of the rasp reading: "HELLER, RACETRACK, MADE IN U.S.A." with a picture of a horse.

TREATMENT PROCEDURE:
1. Dry cleaned dust from the surface with a vacuum and micro-attachment brush.
2. Removed the catalog number with swabs of acetone.
3. Cleaned dirt and grime from the surfaces with swabs of acetone.
4. Reduced loose corrosion throughout the surfaces with a stiff bristle brush and swabs of acetone.
5. Warmed each object in a laboratory oven set to 90ºC and applied to a micro-crystalline wax coating in Naptha solvent.
6. Reapplied catalog number by printing on archival paper and adhered it with a top and bottom coat of Rhoplex acrylic adhesive.
