BACKGROUND: Installed in Our Lady Mt. Carmel Church, these four panels feature filigree motifs and cross imagery using a mixture of textured cathedral glass and a rounded lead matrix. Both windows with memorial plates are set in an operable, metal vent. The remaining two windows were set in wooden frames. The rectangular panel's memorial segment is blank.
CONDITION: All three panels exhibited a heavy layer of grim, several cracks, and areas of poor previous repairs. There are portions of loss throughout the border of the arched transom window.
TREATMENT: Prior to disassembly, dual rubbings were taken of the windows and applied decoration was tested for stability. A wet disassembly process was used to dismantle the window and the glass was cleaned using soft, bristle brushes in water. Replacement glass was selected and cut for missing sections. Inserted lead lines used for repairs. Windows were releaded and cemented.
